Conor Sinnott made it two wins on the spin as Wexford outplayed Athlone in a poor game at Lisseywoollen. David Breen headed wide from Sinnott’s free-kick just before half-time in the only real note of a poor first half. Emeka Onwubiko had Town’s best chance seven minutes into the second half when bursting forward to blaze over the Wexford crossbar. Sinnott then punished poor goalkeeping to win it for Youths on 73 minutes. Town keeper John McGuinness’s poor clearance was picked up by Gavin Doyle. He fed Sinnott whose low shot squirmed under the body of McGuinness and into the net. |
