Jim Sheridan scored twice as Longford eased to their first win of the season at Flancare Park. Town hit the front on four minutes when Derek Glynn crossed for central defender Sheridan to score from close range. It was 2-0 six minutes later when a long ball over the top caught County square and Glynn raced through to round keeper Colin Cassidy and walk the ball into the net. Twelve minutes later Town went 3-0 up. Jason McCartney crossed low from the left and Gary Curran shot home. Sheridan sealed the win on 63 minutes when Cassidy totally missed McCartney’s free-kick and the big defender shot home. |
