Emeka Onwubiko scored twice as Athlone made it two wins on the spin to go top of the First Division table.

County started positively and Paddy Mahon headed them in front on 40 minutes.

But Nigerian-born Onwubiko, an Ireland underage international, levelled four minutes later when shooting home after being played in by Stephen Place, brother of Town boss Brendan.

Eleven minutes into the second half ex-Bray Wanderers striker Onwubiko scored again to put Athlone in front.

Noel McGee, their match winner against Mervue United last week, sealed Athlone’s win with their third goal eleven minutes from time.
