Skipper Conor Gethins earned Harps their first win of the season with a late penalty as Longford finished with nine men at Finn Park.

Town defender Stephen Gough was the first to be sent off by Offaly referee Brendan Kelly on 74 minutes when pulling down Christy Conaghan with Gethins firing home the resultant penalty for what proved the only goal of the game.

Town then had Liam Lynch dismissed for a tussle with Michael Funston two minutes later.
