Finn Harps had to come from behind to earn a point at Station Road as Kildare frustrated Paul Hegarty’s Donegalmen.

Harps had the only opening of a dour first half when David McDaid latched onto Ruairi Harkin’s pass to shoot against a post four minutes before the break.

But they fell behind within three minutes of the restart when Paul Rigney’s cross was shot to the net, with the help of a deflection, by David O’Riordan.

Harps pressed for the remainder of the game and drew level on 83 minutes when McDaid collected Christy Connaughton’s cross to shoot low under the dive of Colin Cassidy.
