Wayne Colbert hit the winner as Limerick ended the season with a victory over ten man Longford at Flancare Park.
Defender Brian O’Callaghan put Limerick ahead a minute before the interval.
Town responded to level through Tom King within three minutes of the restart.
Colbert then restored Limerick’s lead on 55 minutes before Longford’s hopes of a revival suffered a blow when Jason McCartney was sent off on 64 minutes.
