Gary Sheahan’s sixth goal in eight games saw Wexford bounce back from last week's defeat at UCD to beat Finn Harps at Ferrycarrig Park.

Sheahan had the best chance of the first half on the half hour when played through one-on-one with Ciaran Gallagher, but the Harps keeper made a good save with his feet.

But striker Sheahan wasn’t to be denied and he got the only goal of the game on 70 minutes. Shane Dempsey combined with skipper Conor Synnott who crossed for Sheahan to shoot past Gallagher.
