Limerick blew a 2-0 lead as they shared six goals with Monaghan at Jackman Park.
Stephen O’Flynn added to his hat-trick at Shels last week with the lead goal for Limerick after just six minutes.
John Tierney then burst through form midfielder to double Limerick’s advantage eleven minutes later.
Darragh Hanaphy steadied the Moanghan ship with a goal back on 25 minutes. But Daryl Kavanagh restored Limerick’s two goal lead five minutes into the second half.
Monaghan didn’t lie down and Karl Bermingham gave them hope with a 61st minute penalty before Stephen McCrossan got their equaliser nine minutes from time.
