Second-placed Shelbourne had to come from behind twice to beat nine man Mervue United at Terryland Park.

A Paul Danaher header put Mervue in front on ten minutes before Peter Hynes levelled 15 minutes later.

Though Mike Tierney restored Mervue's lead on 37 minutes, defender Mark Ludden was the first to see red for a second booking two minutes later.

In a rollercoaster match, David McAllister levelled for Shels within four minutes of the restart.

Mervue then had Alex Lee sent off by Cork referee Graham Kelly on 71 minutes to all but hand the game to the Dubliners.
