Philip Hughes scored twice to earn bottom of the table Kildare only their third win of the season. A defensive mix-up gifted County the lead on 41 minutes, hesitancy by Ray Kenny and Jason McCartney allowing Hughes to slip through to shoot past Danny O’Leary. Town were level within two minutes of the restart when Brian McCarthy’s flick found Derek Glynn who blasted to the net. But Hughes won it for County on 83 minutes when racing clear onto Trevor Bowers' sublime through ball to again beat O’Leary for his fourth goal in three games. |
