Karl Bermingham scored twice as Monaghan got back to winning ways at Kingspan Century Park.

Bermingham struck on 49 and 67 minutes, adding to Darragh Hanaphy’s first half opener, to ease Monaghan into a 3-0 lead.

Pat Hoban got a goal back for Mervue within two minutes, but Philip Donnelly restored Monaghan’s three goal lead two minutes later.

Hoban got a second consolation goal for Mervue from a penalty eleven minutes from the end.
