Limerick 2-1 Mervue United
Friday, 04 September 2009 11:54

Limerick scored twice inside five minutes early on to end a run of two defeats.

Striker Daryl Kavanagh put Pat Scully's Shannonsiders in front on ten minutes with Shane Tracey doubling the lead to leave Mervue stunned with just 15 minutes played.

The Galway side battled back, but Neil Keane's 83rd minute penalty was all they had to show for their efforts as Limerick earned only their second win in seven games.
