Athlone Town 2-2 Kildare County
Friday, 04 September 2009 11:23

Orrin Farrell earned ten man Kildare County a point at Lisseywoollen in a rollercoaster clash between these struggling sides.

After a scoreless first half, bottom of the table County took the lead on 52 minutes through Philip Hughes.

Defender Des hope headed home Mark Sammon's corner to level six minutes later.

Town then went in front on 63 minutes when Robbie Benson scored direct from a free-kick.

But County hit back within a minute when Farrell's deflected shot found the net.

A further minute later saw the sending off of County defender David Long for a second yellow card.
