| Waterford United 0-0 Sporting Fingal |

Waterford wasted the best chances as these promotion chasers had to settle for a scoreless draw at the RSC.
Sporting had an opportunity to take the lead as early as the second minute when ex-Blues' winger Alan Kirby crossed for Gary O’Neill who planted his header wide. Waterford then blew two good openings in the second half. The first came within a minute of the restart when Joe Mulcahy ballooned over the bar from Paul Walsh’s cross. Mulcahy then took the wrong option on 86 minutes when he shot over rather than passing to the unmarked Willy John Kiely. |
