| Mervue United 0-0 Wexford Youths |

Mervue United stopped the rot of eight straight defeats with a battling scoreless draw at home to Wexford Youths, despite playing for over an hour with ten men. Â The Galway side had Neil Keane sent off after just 24 minutes for a bad challenge on Anto Russell. Â Minutes earlier David Goldbey might have put Mervue in front but shot into the arms of Youths' keeper Packie Holden. Â Youths' Jimmy Keohane headed against a post midway through the second half from Conor Sinnott's cross. Â But it was the ten men who might have snatched the three points late on when Mark Ludden was through one-on-one with Holden, but the keeper did well to force the ball out for a corner. |
