Evan McMillan earned promotion-chasing UCD a point with a last gasp equaliser to deprive Athlone of a first win in eight games.

 

Trailing to Stephen Place's 62nd minute lead, UCD finally broke Athlone down three minutes into stoppage time at the death.

 

Central defender McMillan got on the end of Timmy Purcell's deep cross to loop a header to the net despite keeper Alex O'Reilly getting a hand to the ball.

 

O'Reilly had made the stop of the night to deprive Ciaran Kilduff on 55 minutes before Town struck for their lead seven minutes later.

 

Robbie Benson put over a clever ball to the near post from the left and Place found room to fire past Brennan.

 

The point moved College into second place over night.
