Graham Cummins scored twice as Waterford romped to a fourth win in five games to move up to second in the First Division table, two points behind leaders Shelbourne.

David Grincell hit a stunning opening goal on 70 minute when collecting John Kearney’s pass to cut inside and beat keeper Ciaran Gallagher with a terrific shot.

Kearney was involved again to set up Cummins for his first goal of the night within two minutes when the striker raced in to slip the ball past Gallagher.

Cummins got his second - his sixth in five games and 14th of the league season - on 81 minutes when calmly slotting home a penalty after Packie Mailey handled Grincell’s shot on the line.

Alan Carey added the fourth goal direct from a free-kick a minute into added time.
