Chris Mulhall’s second goal in three games moved UCD back up to second in the table - but College had to work very hard for their win against bottom of the table County at Station Road. Improving County had the first opening of a tight first half on 13 minutes when Liam Tiernan headed over from David Jackson’s corner. College responded and Mulhall might have done better then fire over the top from Ciaran Nagle's cross seven minutes later. But midfielder Mulhall made amends with the only goal of the game on 84 minutes. Defender Craig Purcell slipped as he came to deal with a long ball and Mulhall raced away to shoot past keeper Darren Kelly. County midfielder Orrin Farrell was shown a straight red card in the final minute for kicking out at Mulhall as his side slumped to their 15th league defeat in a row.
