Finn Harps 3-2 Sporting Fingal
Friday, 03 July 2009 09:43
Goals from Packie Mailey, Patrick Bonner and Sean Houston earned Harps a morale-boosting win over promotion-chasing Sporting.

Conan Byrne’s seventh strike of the season gave Sporting the start they would have wanted with the lead goal on 24 minutes.

But rejuvenated Harps, unbeaten now in five league games, hit back to lead at the break.

Mailey had them level on 31 minutes with Bonner firing them in front eight minutes before the interval.

Houston then put Harps 3-1 up on 59 minutes.

Sporting chased the game hard late on, but despite Dinny Corcoran getting a goal back right on 90 minutes, Harps held on for their first win of the season over a top four side.
