Wexford avenged last week's FAI Ford Cup exit to Longford with a late goal securing all three points in their league clash at Flancare Park - the sides’ third meeting in seven days. Midfielder Gary Sheahan, who also scored their recent winner at then leaders Waterford, got the only goal of the game five minutes from time - his third of the season - to maintain Youths’ good league form. Mick Wallace’s side have now won six of their last nine league games, having opened the season with three straight defeats. Longford remain second bottom of the table. |
