Anto Flood’s ninth goal of the second earned Shelbourne a fourth win on the spin to move them to within a point of leaders UCD at the top of the table. Shels were disrupted early on when losing midfielder Mark O’Brien with a suspected broken collarbone. Dean Delaney then had to make the stop of the night to deprive Graham Cummins on 36 minutes after the midfielder had skilfully worked the opening. The division's topscorer Willie John Kiely was then just wide before half-time with a dipping volley as Blues continued to press. Shels were better on the resumption and got what proved the winner on 54 minutes when Flood met a free-kick to head past Michael Divine to score for the fourth match running. |
