Longford Town needed a stoppage time winner from Gary Curran to beat bottom of the table Kildare in a thriller at Station Road. Dave O’Riordan scored twice for County who had midfielder Davy Byrne sent off for dissent just before the hour mark. Liam Lynch had opened the scoring for managerless Town on six minutes with Jason McCartney then putting them ahead just past the half hour mark after O’Riordan had levelled. Despite having Byrne sent off, County levelled again through O’Riordan on 67 minutes. But Curran won it for Town three minutes into added time to deprive County of what would have been only their second point of the season. |
