Goals from Gavin Doyle and Gary Sheehan ended Waterford’s nine-match unbeaten league run, but they remain top of the table on goal difference ahead of UCD. Doyle fired Youths in front with a terrific strike from a free-kick on 27 minutes. Sheehan doubled Youths’ lead on 72 minutes when he raced through to shoot past Mick Devine. Willy John Kiely scored a clever back-heeled goal within a minute to get Blues back into a keenly contested southeast derby, but Wexford held out as they got back to winning ways after last week’s defeat to Shelbourne |
