U19 Seminar a big success
Thursday, 21 April 2011 21:34

AIRTRICITY LEAGUE clubs were given a vision of the future at the Aviva Stadium this week with a seminar on the new U19 league.

FAI International Performance Director Wim Koevermans led the speakers who outlined the aims and ambitions for the new league, which will kick off later this year.

Republic of Ireland under-19 boss Paul Doolin and under-21 international team manager Noel King also met with the clubs to explain how this new league will fit into the overall structures of the game in this country.

Airtricity League director Fran Gavin was also one of the speakers at the event, which was attended by 46 representatives of the member clubs.

"We were extremely pleased with the response to the seminar and that so many representatives took the time to attend and listen to what is proposed for the new league," said Gavin.

Shamrock Rovers boss Michael O'Neill, St Patrick's Athletic manager Pete Mahon and UCD boss Martin Russell were amongst the top coaches present.
