Enda Dunne scored a dramatic stoppage time equaliser to earn Salthill a point in the Galway derby at Terryland Park.

Dunne struck three minutes into added time at the death when shooting past Padraig Lally to prevent Mervue leapfrogging Devon off the foot of the First Division table.

Rory Gaffney thought he’d won it for Mervue with a brace of goals after Mike Kennedy had given Salthill a 40th minute lead.

Kennedy got on the end of Daryl Horgan’s free-kick to stoop to head past Lally at the far post to give Devon a 40th minute lead.

But Mervue were level on the blow of the break. Evan Connolly put Gaffney in on goal and he flicked the ball past Ronan Forde.

Gaffney then put Mervue in front on 62 minutes when Gaffney looped a header past Forde from a Mark Ludden cross.
