Anto Flood's 11th goal of the season sealed victory at Finn Park as Shelbourne exorcised the ghost of Friday’s shock home defeat to Longford.

The win moves Shels back second in the First Division table and favourites to gain home advantage in the promotion play-off with Sporting Fingal next week.

Gary Whoriskey caught Shels’ keeper Dean Delaney cold when scoring from a free-kick after 19 minutes.

But Shels hit back to score twice inside four minutes just past the half hour mark.

Striker Tony Griffiths levelled on 30 minutes when shooting home the rebound after keeper Ciaran Gallagher could only parry a shot from Derek Doyle.

A clever flick from Richie Baker then put Doyle through on goal to beat Gallagher in a one-on-one.

Striker Flood clinched the points with the third goal 11 minutes from time.
