Longford stunned Shels at Tolka Park as Dermot Keely's Reds' title hopes went up in smoke. Â In an incredible opening half, Derek Glynn scored twice and Adrian Murphy hit a penalty to have the midlanders 3-0 up after 37 minutes. Â David McAllister and Richie Baker pulled goals back before half-time, but midfielder Tom King sealed the win for Town with goals in the 69th and 87th minutes. Â Peter Hynes got a late brace for Shels, the second in stoppage time. But it was to no avail as Shels, who also had midfielder David McGill sent off four minutes from time, must settle for a play-off with Sporting Fingal. |
