| UCD win First Division title |
|
UCD lifted the First Division title on Saturday evening at the UCD Bowl despite losing their final game of the season to Waterford United.  Waterford scored three times inside four minutes as they came from behind to beat the champions.  Students captain Ronan Finn carved out the lead goal on 21 minutes, playing Ciaran Kilduff in on goal to shoot past Kevin Burns. But The Blues hit back in dramatic fashion on 59 minutes when Willie John Kiely headed home Paul Walsh’s cross.
Vinny Sullivan then put Blues in front within 40 seconds when his 30-yard shot deflected off Andy Boyle before entering the net off a post.
Sullivan was there again within two minutes to score from another Walsh cross.
David McMillan got UCD’s second goal two minutes into stoppage time.
