Monday, 30 August 2010 22:19
Galway United and Sporting Fingal booked their places in the FAI Ford Cup Quarter Finals with Fourth Round replay victories on Monday night.

It took a penalty shoot-out victory over Limerick to send FAI Ford Cup holders Fingal into the last eight of this season’s competition. After a scoreless 120 minutes, Liam Buckley’s side defeated Limerick 4-3 on penalty kicks.

Galway United booked a Quarter Final meeting with Shamrock Rovers with a deserved 3-1 win over Salthill Devon at Drom.

Seamus Conneely scored a rare goal to put the Tribesmen ahead on 15 minutes. Two second half strikes from Tom King put the match beyond doubt, before Victor Collins pulled back a last minute consolation goal for Salthill.
