Barry Ryan has hailed Galway United's young heroes and has predicted a bright future for the young Tribesmen. Galway United have started the season magnificently and are currently in fifth place in the league table. A win over Derry City at Terryland Park tonight would see them cement their challenge for a European place. Ryan says that the change in fortunes at the club has a lot to do with the young players who have broken into the team. The experienced shot-stopper has predicted a bright future for players who are currently making their names with the club. "There are some really good young players at the club right now," he said. "Cian McBrien is a fabulous footballer. Vinny Faherty works hard up front, Seamus Conneely at right-back, Iarflaith Davoren at left-back, and a lot of guys on the bench that are starting to push for starting places. "There is a good core of young players here and if they keep working hard they will make a decent living out of the game. “Nothing phases these guys because they are so young and that is fantastic as it allows them to go into games believing that they can win. We don’t fear anyone in the league, but we don’t underestimate anyone either.” Ryan knows that Derry City will provide tough opposition at Terryland Park. Having held Derry to a 1-1 draw already this season, Ryan knows that exactly what is needed to compete with a team that has ambitions of challenging for the title. “Derry are a really good team with a good manager, excellent players, and top class fans. They are just a huge club,” Ryan told loi.ie. “We know what to expect from them and that we have to play to our best to keep up with them. Even though we have a young team, it is one that works hard.
