Ireland Under-21 match set for Tallaght
Monday, 01 March 2010 21:11
Galway United's Seamus Conneely will get the perfect start to his 2010 season on Wednesday night when he represents the Republic of Ireland Under-21s at the Tallaght Stadium.

The Young Boys in Green will take on Armenia in Tallaght on Wednesday evening (kick-off 7.30pm) and Conneely will be hoping to feature in the team. Although at a disadvantage in the sense of not having played competitively since last November, Conneely has impressed for Ireland at this level and manager Don Givens is known to be a fan.

The fact that the Airtricity League will not commence until after this match means that Conneely is the only home-based player in the squad.

However, there are other players in the squad who are very familiar with the Airtricity League - Everton sensation Seamus Coleman formerly played with Sligo Rovers, while David Meyler and Kevin Long both played for Cork City before moving to Sunderland and Burnley respectively.

Tickets for Wednesday's match are priced €5 for adults and €2 for Under-16s.

Squad: Shane Redmond (Darlington), James McKeown (Peterborough United), Seamus Coleman (Everton), Kevin Long (Burnley), Callum Morris (Newcastle United), Olanrewaju Oyebanjo (Histon), Darren Dennehy (Gillingham), Cian Hughton (Lincoln City), David Meyler (Sunderland), Seamus Conneely (Galway United), Owen Garvan (Ipswich Town), Scott Davies (Reading), Conor Clifford (Chelsea), Alan Judge (Plymouth Argyle), Cillian Sheridan (St. Johnstone), Ian Daly (Aris Thessaloniki), Sean Scannell (Crystal Palace), Terry Dixon (West Ham United)
