Biography
Mick Cooke was appointed to the position of manager of Drogheda United in February 2011.
He had managed Monaghan United since September 2003, when he replaced Bobby Browne - who he had succeeded as Drogheda boss.
Cooke had previously been the manager of the Republic of Ireland Senior Women’s side.
As a player, Cooke distinguished himself with a string of top clubs. He began his career with St. Patrick’s Athletic and later enjoyed spells with Drogheda United, Shamrock Rovers and Galway United.
Having retired from playing, Cook spent several seasons in charge of the Republic of Ireland’s senior women’s side. He also spent three seasons as Assistant Manager at Shamrock Rovers during Damien Richardson’s spell as manager of the club.
In 2010 he led Monaghan to the EA Sports Cup Final and the promotion play-offs. He also assisted Damien Richardson with the Airtricity League select.
