| Bohs stunned in Wales |
|
Bohemians crashed out of Europe after experiencing a nightmare in Wales, going down to a 4-0 defeat to TNS. The result means that it is TNS who progress to the next round to face Anderlecht, having beaten Bohs 4-1 on aggregate. The match was level on aggregate after just five minutes when TNS took the lead, Craig Jones finishing past Barry Murphy from close range. Bohemians stayed calm after the opening goal and Madden had a half-chance to make it 1-1. However, the Bohs game plan was in disarray after just twenty minutes. Matthew Williams struck on a counter-attack on 13 minutes to put TNS 2-0 ahead, before Chris Sharp made it 3-0 with a header on 20 minutes. Bohs exerted huge pressure in the early stages of the second half and a breakthrough seemed likely as they chased two goals. However, the fixture was put beyond all doubt on 75 minutes when Williams struck for his second and TNS's fourth.
