It will be a family affair at Athlone Town this season, after new manager Brendan Place made a last minute addition to the squad: his brother!
Stephen Place joins Athlone from Leinster Senior League side Glebe North, where he has been performing well. Older brother Brendan feels that his younger brother can add something to the team: “He’s been doing well for Glebe north where he played as centre forward and is very strong in the air. He will give us options up front where we definitely need additions.
