Two mistakes by stand-in goalkeeper Willie Doyle helped College through to the fourth round at the UCD Bowl.

 

A goalkeeping error initially gifted non-league Arklow the lead on 15 minutes when Darragh Murray tapped home after Ger Barron dropped Stephen Murphy's corner.

 

But Doyle, a striker playing between the posts due to a goalkeeping crisis at Town, gave UCD a soft equaliser on 32 minutes when allowing Timmy Purcell's long-range shot squirm under his body.

 

Doyle, a former UCD player, made another error to give UCD the lead three minutes before half-time when John Reilly's header from Purcell's cross fell through his hands.

 

Ciaran Kilduff rifled in the killer third goal on 69 minutes from Ronan Finn's cross.
