| Ryan hoping for Saints return |
St. Patrick's Athletic wing wizard Bobby Ryan could be in line for a return to first team action when the Saints host Bohemians this Friday. ![]() Ryan, who scored the vital goal against Shelbourne that won the league for Bohemians in 2003, has been sidelined since September with a knee injury. However, having played for 90 minutes in the Saints' A Championship match against Tralee Dynmos last weekend, Ryan is hopeful of a return to first team action. “The knee went in September and it has been an absolute nightmare," he said. "Being out of the game for so long, just sitting in the stands watching the lads has been really hard and I can’t wait to get back. “I had 90 minutes of football last weekend against Tralee Dynamos in the A Championship and it felt great to be back playing again. I hope to make the bench on Friday and I would love to be involved in the game at some stage”. Another ex-Gypsey now playing for St. Pat's is Damien Lynch, who knows that the Saints are capable of defeating the current league champions on Friday. "The Bohs game will be a big test for us," he said. “They’re League champions, they beat us well in Dalymount earlier in the season and some of our players have been nursing injuries. "However we’ve been improving and while we are underdogs we definitely have the players in our squad to get something out of this game”. |
