Guy calls for Saints to pull together
Ryan Guy has issued a rallying cry to St. Patrick's Athletic supporters to get behind the team as they attempt to kick-start their season.

The Saints have got off to a sluggish start, losing six of their opening ten matches. However, the American-born striker believes that results will start to turn around so long as the fans continue to support the players.

"It's our job as players to get through these times and to really coerce good decisions, coerce a change of luck, if you will," said Guy. "I think that's what we're doing as a team right now. As any team does, you look for the answer and answers in this game are not cut and dry. We're working hard enough. All we can ask for is the continued support of the fans as that's what will ultimately get us through.

"I'm very confident about the future. I think our performances are getting better and with players coming back I think we're going to have many more options on the pitch."

St. Pat's host Cork City on Saturday night (Richmond Park, kick-off 7.30pm) in what will be a tough match for the home side. The Saints boast the worst defensive record in the top flight and their bid to tighten at the back will not be helped by the fact that defenders Jamie Harris and David Partridge will both miss this match through suspension. Also missing for the home side are long term injury victims Gary Dempsey, Mark Leech, Bobby Ryan and Gints Freimanis.

Unbeaten in seven league matches, Cork City travel to Richmond Park in second place in the table. The Rebel Army travel to Dublin without Billy Dennehy (hamstring), Neal Horgan (elbow) and Davin O’Neill (ankle), while long term casualties Shane Duggan, Stephen O’Donnell and Robert Mezeckis all remain absent.
