| St Pat's set out to reach next round |
|
St Patrick's Athletic will be hoping for a good result when they take on Krylya Sovetov in the second leg of their Europa League qualifier on Thursday (3.00pm Irish Time). Â Declan 'Fabio' O'Brien secured a famous win for The Super Saints in the first leg when he rifled a shot into the back of the net on 70 minutes and that goal has given the Dublin side an advantage over their Russian opponents. Â While it won't be easy to escape from Samara with the victory, Jeff Kenna's side are certainly playing with a lot more confidence in recent weeks and that should help them in this tricky fixture. Â Kenna is expected to stick with the same team that finished the match in Inchicore last week, so that means O'Brien will spearhead the attack and Bobby Ryan will come into the starting eleven to take up the left wing position. Â "We know how tough it will be in Russia for the second leg, but we have something to hold on to," said Kenna. Â Â With Gary Dempsey and Mark Leech back in action following horrific leg injuries, St Pat's also have good options on their bench - should they need to call on reinforcements. Â Sovetov should welcome back giant Czech Republic striker Jan Koller after the former Monaco hitman missed the trip to Dublin due to a niggling injury. |
