Russell staying with Sligo

JOHN RUSSELL has become the latest member of Paul Cook's double cup winning Sligo Rovers side to commit his future to the club.

Midfield general Russell has agreed a new deal for the Bit O'Red for the 2011 season according to sligorovers.com.

The former Galway United made 20 league appearances for Cook's side last year and scored three league goals to help clinch third spot in the Airtricity League Premier Division table.

Russell has also played for Salthill Devon and manager Cook has announced his intention to add another couple of signings to his squad in the coming weeks.
