| McCabe out as Sligo host Monaghan |
|
Sligo Rovers will be without Gary McCabe for the FAI Ford Cup quarter-final with Monaghan United on Saturday night in The Showgrounds, kick-off 7:45pm. McCabe is suspended for the last eight encounter. John Dillon is a big doubt with a back injury. Richie Ryan and Romauld Boco have minor hamstring worries but both players are expected to be fit to face Mick Cooke's side. Jim Lauchlan returns to the Rovers squad after missing the 2-2 draw with Galway United in the Premier Divison on Monday night. The teams also meet in the EA Sports Cup final next Saturday. Apart from Paul Whelan and Ian McNeill, who are both Cup-tied, Monaghan manager Mick Cooke will have a strong panel to select from. With a good string of results topped off by two good wins in the league last week end Monaghan United are on tip of their form and even though they are playing a Premier Division side who are also going through a good vein of form United will go into this game with plenty of confidence and the tag underdog will be no handicap |
