| Sligo out to overturn deficit |
|
Sligo Rovers will look to over-turn a 4-1 deficit this evening when they host St. Patrick’s Athletic in the second leg of the Setanta Sports Cup semi-final. The Saints gave themselves a commanding lead in the first leg at Richmond Park and the Bit O’Red will have to produce something special to book their place in the tournament final. Richard Brush (knee) is ruled out for the home side, who are otherwise at full strength. A fine St. Patrick’s Athletic performance last Tuesday was capped by a stunning individual goal from Ryan Guy, giving Pete Mahon’s side a solid cushion going into tonight’s game. “It’s not going to be easy, even though we have a three goal lead” said Saints winger Gareth Coughlan. “But we’re confident and Ryan Guy’s goal has given us a great cushion. I’ve never won a trophy and I was relegated last year, so hopefully I can get my hands on something here.” |
