General Information

Sligo Rovers were elected to the League of Ireland in 1934 and won the title two seasons later. The club was one of those who made-up the inaugural First Division title in 1985 and has spent eight seasons in the second tier of the league.

However, having won the First Division title in 2005, the club is now re-established in the top flight and in 2009 will compete in European competition for the first time in over a decade.

Football has a long tradition in Sligo and the club draws on a wide fanbase from throughout the county.
