SHELBOURNE fan Gerard Brannock has thanked FAI CEO John Delaney for his contribution to decorating the Ringsend area ahead of the FAI Ford Cup Final. The FAI CEO presented a cheque for €100 and an FAI flag to Brannock to assist with decorating the Ringsend area with bunting and flags from Shelbourne and Sligo Rovers celebration the FAI Ford Cup Final between both clubs. Gerard said: "I really appreciate the gesture from the FAI and John Delaney in particular and it will assist in creating a festival feeling in Ringsend on Cup Final day." Delaney admitted that when Brannock approached the FAI with the idea to decorate the Ringsend area - where Shelbourne originate from - he instantly recognised it as a worthwhile idea. "I felt it was a very good initiative and I was only too happy to support Gerard," said Delaney. "I hope that Gerard's work will help add to the family atmosphere in the area ahead of the final and will contribute to making it an occasion to remember for all concerned. "Shelbourne are one of the famous names in Irish football and I am delighted that they have reached the FAI Ford Cup Final and secured their promotion to the Premier Division." |
