| Shels sign Hughes on loan |
|
Shelbourne have snapped-up promising striker Marc Hughes on loan from Bohemians. Hughes joins the Reds having broken into the Gypsies' first team squad in 2009. He will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Paddy Madden, who joined Shelbourne on loan for the first half of 2009 and subsequently became a first team player at Bohs, earning his first Ireland Under-21 cap along the way. Hughes was an integral part of Bohemians' Newstalk A Championship squad and played several times for the first team. He became a fans favourite when he scored a 94th minute winning goal against Drogheda United last May, giving Bohs a vital three points. He becomes the 18th member of Dermot Keely's Shelbourne squad. The panel to date is: Dean Delany, Steve Williams, Stephen Quigley, Gareth Whelan, Ian Ryan, Kevin Doherty, Sean Byrne, Robbie Clarke, Ray Scully, David Cassidy, David McGill, Paul Shiels, Colin O'Brien, Eric Foley, Philip Gorman, Dinny Corcoran, Marc Hughes and Andy Haran. |
