| Turner's Cross holds no fear - O'Neill |
Shamrock Rovers boss Michael O'Neill says his side do not fear going to Turner's Cross as they look to go level on points with Cork City. ![]() The Rebel Army host the Hoops on Friday night in an eagerly-awaited fixture. Having taken 11 points from their last possible 15, Rovers are the on-form side in the Premier Division. The Hoops defeated Dundalk 3-1 at the Tallaght Stadium on Tuesday night and would love to make it two wins in a week when they travel to Turner’s Cross. There are slight doubts about the fitness of Darragh Maguire and Stephen Rice, while Sean Webb remains sidelined due a back problem, but otherwise Michael O’Neill has a full squad to choose from. “This is a game we’re really looking forward to,” said O’Neill. “Cork City have been excellent this season and if we we win this game we’ll go level with them, which shows how much progress we’re making. “We’ve been very good away from home and have lost only one game on the road so far this season – so going down to Turner’s Cross holds absolutely no fear for us. “We’ll be looking for big performances from our big players, and we’re in a confident mood after the win against Dundalk at Tallaght Stadium last Tuesday night. “Turner’s Cross is one of the better grounds in the league, there should be a big crowd out for the visit of Shamrock Rovers – and we’ll have plenty of vocal support.” |
