| O'Neill expecting tough encounter |
|
Shamrock Rovers travel to Terryland Park to face Galway United this Friday, and manager Michael O'Neill is expecting a tough game. Galway have started the season very brightly, but a win for Rovers could see the Hoops overtake the Tribesmen in the league table. “They’ve had a great start to their season – especially as a lot of people were tipping them to be facing a relegation battle," said O'Neill. "We know this will be a very tough game for us. “But we’re unbeaten in our last four games so we’ve built up a bit of momentum. Confidence is quite high, everyone’s working hard and there’s a lot of competition for places. “It’s important that we have a strong finish to the first quarter of the campaign, and a win against Galway would put us above them in the table – and that’s what we’ll be looking for.” Ian Bermingham and Pat Flynn will both miss the trip west, while there are slight doubts over Corie Treacy and Sean O'Connor. |
