Hoops look to end Rebel run

Shamrock Rovers will be looking to bring Cork City's recent unbeaten run to an end when the sides meet in Tallaght on Friday night, but Hoops boss Michael O'Neill knows that it will be no easy task.

The new Rovers manager has never faced the Rebel Army before, but he is aware of the danger they pose.

“Given their last few results Cork City are definitely the form team at the moment," he said. "Three straight wins and only one goal conceded. They’ve a strong team and a really good squad.

“But our players showed a lot of qualities against Dundalk - I know that we’re a match for any team in the Premier Division, and now we’re looking for back-to-back wins.

“We expect a very difficult game against Cork City, but we are determined to play to our full potential and get the three points in front of another full house in Tallaght.”
