| Hoops face Juventus possibility |
|
Shamrock Rovers could be in line for a meeting with the mighty Juventus following today's Europa League Third Qualifying Round draw. The Italian giants were drawn against the winners of the Shamrock Rovers - Beni Yehuda Second Qualifying Round fixture. With the tie balanaced at 1-1 following last night's first leg at Tallaght Stadium, the Hoops have every chance of progressing, setting-up a mouth-watering clash against one of the aristocrats of world football. Sporting Fingal will face either FC Honka Espoo of Finland or Bangor City of Wales in the Third Qualifying Round should they overcome CS Maritimo of Portugal. Although trailing 3-2 from the away leg, the two away goals will give Liam Buckley's side real hope of progressing. Dundalk will face FK Jablonec 97 of Czech Republic in the Third Qualifying Round should they progress. However, having suffered a heavy defeat in Sofia last night, the Lilywhites face a huge uphill battle to stake their place in the Third Qualifying Round. The Third Qualifying Round matches will take place on July 29th and August 5th. |
