Tallaght a sell-out for crunch derby fixture
All 6,000 tickets for Friday night's Dublin derby at the Tallaght Stadium have been sold, setting the scene for the most eagerly-anticipated League of Ireland fixture of recent seasons.

When Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians meet there is always huge interest in the fixture. However, with seven games remaining and only one point separating the sides at the top of the table, it will be all eyes on Tallaght at 7.45pm on Friday evening when these two old rivals go head-to-head in a top-of-the-table showdown.

As the match has been completely sold out, supporters are advised that no tickets will be on sale from the stadium on match day. However, there is good news for ticketless fans - supporters without tickets can watch the match live on TG4.

It is a match of huge importance and the home side are in good shape going into it, with Ian Bermingham (ankle) the only absentee. The young defender injured himself while on duty for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s last month and has missed the last few league matches.

With Pat Sullivan back from suspension and Paddy Kavanagh, Sean O'Connor and Darragh Maguire all fit, the Hoops boast a strong squad going into the match.

The last time these sides met in Tallaght, Bohemians led the match with two minutes remaining only for a last gasp brace from Gary Twigg to give Rovers the win. Hoops boss Michael O'Neill will be hoping his side can maintain their 100% record in Tallaght against their rivals.

“We expect it to be a tight game, these games usually are like that," said O'Neill. "But we’ve done it here before in Tallaght against Bohemians, coming from behind to win a game.

“We’re looking forward to the game as the players are enjoying being in this position. We’ll be approaching the game against Bohs with a lot of confidence.”

Bohemians started the week in second place in the league but a 1-0 win in the Brandywell on Tuesday night put them back in top spot. The Gypsies travel to Dublin 24 without three key players, however, with Killian Brennan, Gary Deegan and Anto Murphy all absent through suspension.

“It’s a big game, but there’s still plenty of football to play afterwards", said Bohs boss Pat Fenlon. "Rovers is always a big match, and it's even bigger now that both of us are at the top of the league.”
