| Orchard do enough to earn replay |
|
Gavin Donoghue redeemed himself to earn Cherry Orchard a replay with the last kick of the game at Red Cow. Â The Leinster Senior League side trailed 2-0 after 53 minutes, but twice punished poor defending to bring the tie back to Kingspan Century Park on Tuesday night. Â With referee Phil Caschera's watch into the 95th minute, despite his having signalled only three minutes of added time, Gary Sullivan's long throw wasn't cleared and Donoghue rifled to the net. Â Donoghue had been at fault as he got the wrong side of David Freeman who shot Monaghan in front on 22 minutes. Â Central defender Donoghue then conceded the free-kick which man-of-the-match Barry Clancy shot home on 53 minutes to double Monaghan's lead. Â But Orchard didn't lie down and they punished a silly foul by Aidan Lynch on Philip Sheppard to get back into the game within six minutes. Â Sheppard put over the free-kick and Stephen Leadbitter headed powerfully to the net. |
